Why do people hate hospitals?

To me it has been home for a
long time. It's always been a place of wonder...

See, I don't understand why people hate hospitals...

majority of the sick people who go there recover. I always thought that was fantastic.

When did that stop being a good and wondrous thing ?

So we have to run around to get tests done and fees paid and everything seems so far apart... [you don't know what far is unless you've run around trying to get a patient discharged]. But the running around too is only to make one better, get tests, get reports... plus there is always the wheelchair for patients.

So the food sucks but...you win some you lose some. The Tea/coffee's not so bad...just make sure you ask them to give u 2 cups without water...there you go! Almost palatable!

There's always a JR to cater to your every need.

There's always a place to pray.

The beds are narrow and one has to be careful while turning...you don't want to roll right off.

No one enjoys being surrounded by sickness, festering wounds, fevers and etc. But take some comfort in the knowledge that they're being taken care of and will [God willing] recover...

for those who get sick watching blood... well you have it too you know...keeps you alive n kickin'! just beneath your skin.... ;)

I know its not a trip to the fun fair ... but a fun fair doesn't soothe your aches and pains and cure your illnesses does it ? Seems to me a trip to the hospital would sound better!!

10 lost souls found themselves in my mirror....:

I've spent a lot of time in hospitals. Heh.

It's not fun, but I think we do need to be more grateful of the fact that hospitals do exist. That's way better than not having any.

Oh and you know what, the Escorts hospital in New Delhi, they sell the best chocolate pastry and the bestest Idli Sambhar in the whole world on their first floor restaurant. Honestly.

Thats a nice reading ...gives me a new line to think and you are right......
In India people ( not the moneyed people, they love hospital, that is a status to be in a expensive 5 * hospital ) hate hospital, simply because they dont know what is waiting for them. They also know, they dont have a choice. It is better to die in a hospital than at home. Visit any OPD of a big Govt hospital, and you will see why people hate hospital and still go there.
If I ever have to get hospitalized, I will go to a Govt hospital ( I have connection to get in) and get treated , rather than spend money on CAT, MRI of the stomach where as I would have been admitted with a knee pain...

I really enjoy your subject and writing too.
Have a nice week ahead

well i dont think food can be a criteria of hating hospitals..if dat would have been so ppl would have hated hostels equally.. the reason i can think off is that ppl go to hospital when they r in pain.. no one wants pain in life.. ppl hate sickness, pain and hospital is related 2 that.. so may be dis is one of the reasons y ppl hate hospitals.. but i will be really surprised if someone will tell me dat dey hate doctors.. i will feel sorry for them..

@Laddu : Ok i get that ppl may dislike goin to a hospital cos obviously they go in pain...BUT THEY USUALLY EXIT PAIN FREE!!!
cmon...how come no one remembers the good part? i always thought hospitals were related to RECOVERY of sickness...

Oh people like hospitals especially good hospitals where people come out healed.
The only thing is people visit it when they are in pain.. so they don't associate it with the good.
It is clean.. however the food is .. it is healthy. People take care of you.. but everything amounts to a huge bill with leaves bitter memories. LOL! I like you passion for hospitals though. Nice post!

I would only say.... You win some, you lose some! You can't get treated for a disease at a pub, hotel or at a much more entertaining place. So it has to be a hospital and you have to deal with it!

P.S. I have not considered the food arrangement n stuff (for me it's a petty thing to think about)
